As a HGV Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be a part of our team of HGV Technicians supporting our 21 year contract with the London Fire Brigade (LFB) to provide all vehicles and equipment, including maintenance and servicing.

Habilidades requeridas:

Essential experience of the HGV Technician

  • Experience in Mechanical Workshops or Car Plants
  • Experience in servicing and repairing HGVs / LGVs
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work well in a team

 

Qualifications for the HGV Technician

  • NVQ Level-3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
  • Holding a Category B and/or C Drivers License is desirable 
     

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.

Tus responsabilidades:

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for servicing and repairing defects on fire vehicles within the LFB fleet. You'll have the opportunity to work on 32-metre and 64-metre aerials, along with the UK’s first Electric Fire engine, as well as servicing fire pumps. 

 

  • Diagnose faults and test vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques. Including road testing where deemed necessary
  • Work in an efficient and productive manner, achieving the targets set out and agreed with Workshop Supervisors or Manager
  • Operate a 'Fix First Time' way of working ensuring quality of work is at the utmost standard and meets/exceeds any inspection carried out against it
  • Drive in a manner within the parameters of the law
  • This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

 

This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Ruislip. Hours of work will typically be 06:00-14:30 and 13:00-22:00, Monday to Friday, but we are open to alternative patterns.
